Enriched by her strong Greek-American heritage, she was honored to sing the Verdi Requiem, at the foot of Acropolis, at Greece's week-long remembrance of Maria Callas broadcast on Greek National Television. Miss Matos' debut recording of Haydn Arias can be heard on the ERI label.
Miss Matos has been seen in two PBS specials: "Defiant Requiem" (Murry Sidlin, creator and conductor) and "Beethoven's 9th Symphony" (Mahler edition with Detroit Symphony; Neemi Jarvi, conductor).
She reprised the Verdi Requiem on Mexican national television honoring President Vicente Fox.
Miss Matos can be heard on the ERI label of Haydn and Hellenic Antiquity.
Eleni Matos is a winner in an unprecedented thirty-three national and international vocal competitions including: The Maria Callas, Luciano Pavarotti, Queen Elisabeth, Florida Grand Opera, George London, Palm Beach Opera, the Metropolitan Opera, and Caruso among others. Miss Matos holds the distinction of winning in more classical vocal competitions than any other vocalist in history. She has performed on many of the worlds greatest stages including: Lyric Opera of Chicago, Carnegie Hall, Avery Fisher Hall, The Megaron, Kennedy Center, Lincoln Center, etc., along with some of the greatest classical singers including: Jane Eaglen, Johann Botha, Ben Heppner, Ruth Ann Swenson, June Anderson, Dimitri Hvorostovsky, Renee Fleming, Samuel Ramey. She has performed under the baton of the greatest conductors: Zubin Mehta, Leonard Slatkin, and Daniel Barenboim just to name a few.
